Studio 9 Awarded a Concept & Creative Innovation Development Fund from Screen Ireland

Studio 9 were delighted to be awarded a Concept and Creative Innovation Development Fund from Screen Ireland. They applied to develop their skills in puppet making for stop motion. Currently they produce animations that use 3D paper sets with replacement paper characters – and while this technique has produced some magical results, the move to animating 3D puppets in a 3D space will elevate their practice and enable a more seamless form of storytelling.

In addition Studio 9 were awarded a year-long residency at the Military Archives in Dublin, sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media as part of the Decade of Centenaries Programme 2012 – 2023. Their proposal was to find ways of bringing the archive to life for new audiences through animation.

And finally, the guys at Studio 9 were delighted to finish a commercial animation for Moo’d Ice-cream that was rolled out on social media and Video on demand.
