Ireland at Expo 2020 Dubai
Cartoon Saloon’s Co Founder & Creative Director Paul Young travelled to Dubai to join in the celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day at ‘Expo 2020 Dubai’. He took part in animation panels and Q&A sessions in conjunction with screenings of Cartoon Saloon’s movies; Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells and WolfWalkers.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
The Secret of Kells was screened in Sydney for their St. Patricks’ Day celebrations. In Kilkenny WolfWalkers took the centre stage for this year’s parade. Themed ‘Running with the Wolves’, Cartoon Saloon teamed up with the parade committee to provide mask and costume templates and designs. Groups from all over Kilkenny joined together to make masks and costumes with one of the highlights being a large wolf made from recycled materials.
Seachtain Na Gaeilge
The Irish version of WolfWalkers, The Song of the Sea and The Secret of Kells were screened in cinemas across Ireland as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge for school groups and the general public. It was great to see the films back on the big screen, especially as gaeilge.
