The Writers’ Guild of Ireland celebrates the best of Irish writing at their annual Zebbie Awards. A live, multi-hosted ceremony in Dublin, where writers of exceptional work in Theatre, Television Drama, Continuing Drama, Short Film, Feature Film, Radio and Animation are honoured, applauded and toasted.
The Zebbie Awards are open to Irish writers, living anywhere, or to any writers living on the island of Ireland, across seven categories – Best Radio Drama Script, Best Animation Script, Best Theatre Script, Best Short Film Script, Best Feature Film Script, Best TV Drama Script and Best Continuing Drama Script, for work broadcast, staged or screened between January and December 2022.
A shortlist of 3 scripts in each category will be announced in September, and WGI members will
then have the opportunity to read the scripts and vote to decide the winning scripts in each category.
The submissions window opens from Thursday, 22nd June 2023 until midnight Tuesday, 11th July 2023. The Zebbie Awards Event will take place on Tuesday, 17th October 2023 in Dublin. www.filmfreeway.com/ZebbieAwards2023
