Pink Kong Studios wins at Galway Film Fleadh 32nd edition

On Sunday July 12, 2020 the 32nd edition (and first ever online edition!) of the Galway Film Fleadh came to a close after another outstanding year of film premieres, events and discussions. The annual awards ceremony was live-streamed online and Pink Kong Studios film won ‘Best Debut Animation Short: Dead Hands of Dublin by Leo Crowley’

‘The Dead Hands of Dublin’ is a Frameworks project co-funded by Screen Ireland and RTÉ. 

The film is an original cinematic 7minute animated short where we see the lead character, Sidney, as a failed pianist who comes into possession of a pair of enchanted gloves. Upon wearing them, he soon finds himself playing the piano like a maestro and all his dreams are quickly realised! Just when he thinks he has everything, fate deals him a cruel hand.

‘The Dead Hands of Dublin’ is Pink Kong Studios third cinematic release of an animated short film. Directed by Leo Crowley (first time cinematic director) and Produced by Niamh Herrity. The film is narrated by Tony Award Winner Jim Norton and the score was composed by Daragh Black Hynes.
