Kilkenny Animated Festival: The Sound of Animation Tickets on Sale!

The first events for this year’s Kilkenny Animated Festival: The Sound of Animation are going on sale at 9am GMT this morning,1st of September!

We’ve got tons of exciting events lined up in a programme that has a little something for everyone! Whether you’re a newcomer to animation, an industry expert, animation curious, or simply just looking for something to do with the kids – we’ve got an event for you. 

Here’s just a taster of the events that are available for booking on the Kilkenny Animated website this morning:

Concert: Kila Live at the Watergate
Join Kíla live in concert as they kick off this year’s festivities and perform against a backdrop of stunning animation.

Screening: The Inventor 
This delightful stop-motion feature film for all the family will be shown at the Watergate Theatre, followed by a live Q&A with director, Jim Capobianco (Ratatouille)

Screenings and Panel: Star Wars: Visions Afternoon Special
Meet the makers of three films from Season Two of the Star Wars:Visions series in this afternoon special featuring screenings and panel discussions

Industry Talk: An Introduction to Audio Post-Production 
Join Barry Reid as he leads audiences through the journey of audio post-production in this fun and engaging session – a must for anyone with a passion for pursuing a career in sound
 
Industry Panel: Focused on Sound
Head of RTÉ Children’s Division Suzanne Kelly is joined by creatives Gilly Fogg, Niamh Herrity and Aidan O’Donovan, to discuss how a project develops when audio is the first consideration, drawing from their first-hand experiences

Kids Workshop: Animation Workshop with Fran Bravo for ages 3-6
Join artist Fran Bravo for a fun drawing workshop for young children and their parents/carers, based on Cartoon Saloon’s Silly Sundays TV series

Kids Workshop: Mini – Comic Book Workshop for ages 7-12
Led by comic book creator, Cliodhna Lyons, this fun mini-comic workshop will allow children with all levels of skills to explore the world of comics before creating their very own.
