Irish Animation and storytelling was on full show at Bengaluru’s GAFX Conference 2019 (21st -23rd June) . The three day conference is India’s most prominent and largest annual event for Games, Animation & Visual Effects Industry hosted by Government of Karnataka and organized by ABAI.
Alongside delegates from Australia, USA, UK and Italy, Sheila de Courcy (IRL), Creative Specialist & Media Consultant, and former Head of Children’s and Young People’s Programming at RTÉ; delivered a 30 minute presentation to a packed audience of 500 people about Irish animation, at a session titled ‘Global animation – reports from around the world’. De Courcy’s focus was on exploring storytelling- where do we get ideas from? Where she spoke about the Irish animation sector, showing a selection of work from the Animation Ireland showreel, and included several case studies of Irish animations illustrating adaptations from a book as well as those inspired by personal stories.
