FilmOffaly, in partnership with the National Talent Academy for Animation and the Birr Animation Residency, is set to host a dedicated Animation Industry Day at Esker Arts, Tullamore. The event takes place on Saturday, February 28th, and will bring together creators, studios, and emerging talent for a day of insights, professional development, and networking opportunities.
This industry day will feature a variety of panels, talks, screenings and interactive workshops. Attendees will also have a chance to meet industry professionals one- on-one to discuss their projects and works in progress. It promises to be an unmissable day for animators and those wanting to be part of this growing industry.
The packed programme includes panels on transferable skills in Animation, as well as the impact made by the long-running Birr Animation Residency. There will also be the chance to sign up for a variety of afternoon training sessions and workshops including sessions on writing for animation, stop-motion animation and production design.
The keynote speaker will be Gilly Fogg- a BAFTA-winning director and Head Creative at Lighthouse Studios. Other guests include Midlands studio Matchbox Mountain and concept artist Lily Bernard who are also among those running workshops. Animators and designers are encouraged to bring along their own projects and designs if they have them, as there will be opportunities to discuss their
work during some of the workshops. FilmOffaly’s Darren Lee said “The animation industry is a huge part of Ireland’s screen economy, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone for an event
that should empower and inspire, as well as shed a light on the animation talent on our own doorstep.”
The Animation Industry Day will run from 10:15am to 5:30pm at Esker Arts, Tullamore. Admission is free, but capacity is limited and early registration is advised.
