Éire Bheoga: A Celebration of Irish Animation at Expo 2020 Dubai is supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and taking place from the 14th – 17th March. The three day line-up during St Patrick’s Week features screenings, live performances and panel discussions on the power and strength of the Irish animation industry.
Curated by the Galway Film Fleadh and supported by Animation Ireland, the programme features screenings from five time Academy Award nominated animation studio, Cartoon Saloon, including feature films The Secret of Kells and Wolfwalkers. The programme also features a line-up of Irish animated shorts, including Brown Bag Films’ Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty at the Al Wasl Plaza, In the Festival Garden and Cartoon Saloon’s Late Afternoon. A screening of Song of the Sea will be followed by a performance from Irish band Kíla, award-winning musical partners on animated features like Wolfwalkers.
Éire Bheoga is a tribute to the power of Irish animation and its remarkable success story, with international acclaim for major Irish animation studios, and the sector’s rapid growth over the past decade.
