Dodo 2 is a 2D animated comedy series for older children and family, co-produced by Telegael (Ireland), Wildseed Studios (UK) and Toonz Entertainment (India). Dodo Season 2 (20 x 11’) has been greenlit by Sky Kids who were also the lead broadcaster for Season 1. Telegael will handle music composition as well as full picture and sound post production at the Telegael studios in An Spidéal, Galway. Season 1 was picked up by WarnerMedia Kids & Family airing on HBO Max and Cartoon Network in the US.
Created and directed by Jack Bennett, Dodo is a funny, relatable, and heart-warming series about 12-year-old Joe Connolly as he navigates the small milestones of everyday life. For Joe, these small events mean big drama, but he will always realise that however bad he thought things were, they are really not the end of the world.
While episodes may be rooted in the small everyday problems that most kids experience at home and at school, Joe’s emotions and dilemmas are so intense that the show has the feeling of epic drama as something new threatens to be the end of Joe’s world, pretty much every day! After all, Joe Connolly might be just a normal kid trying to navigate his way through daily life but when you’re a 12 year old and experiencing so many things for the first time, the world can be a confusing place. As with Series 1, Joe will be surrounded by his close friends, Frisbo, Pete and Lily and our diverse supporting cast.
“Telegael is thrilled to work again with our colleagues Wildseed Studios, Toonz Entertainment and Sky Kids on such a wonderful series. Dodo is a truly global production, drawing on talent from Ireland, UK and India.” said Telegael CEO, Paul Cummins.
Series 1 launched in June 2021 on Sky Kids. Distribution is being handled by CAKE who have recently closed a deal for Series 1 and 2 with ITV.
