Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland is delighted to announce the successful teams of the 2024 edition of its Frameworks animated short film scheme, co-funded with RTÉ.
Frameworks is a flagship scheme for the Irish animation sector, now in its 29th edition. The scheme has produced short films that have gone on to major international success, including Academy Award nominations and World Premieres at major film festivals like Tribeca, Annecy and Sundance.
Emma Scott, Head of Distribution and Short Film Production at Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, said:
“Screen Ireland is delighted to congratulate the three filmmaking teams behind the successful projects for this year’s Frameworks scheme. The final three projects represent the storytelling beauty and visual artistry we’ve come to know and expect from the Frameworks scheme. We’re looking forward to audiences, at home and abroad, connecting with these projects next year.”
Pauline MacNamara, Executive Producer at RTÉ Arts & Culture, said:
“Congratulations to the three teams behind the successful projects in this year’s Frameworks Animated Shorts scheme. This year’s films bring a range of topical conversations to the programme – climate, self-determination, art and the consumer – embracing three very different, beautiful and distinctive animation styles. RTÉ looks forward to sharing them with our television and Player audiences.”
The three successful projects and teams for this year’s round are:
