JAM Media: We are delighted to announce winning an RTS Northern Ireland Award in the children’s/Animation category with our short film, ‘The Voyage’. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the awards were hosted in a live streamed show by Patrick Kielty on Thursday 12th November.
The short was based on singer Christy Moore’s classic song The Voyage, and was produced for RTE’s Comic relief to help raise much needed funds for COVID 19 relief. At the beginning of lockdown, Christy Moore called into The Ray D’Arcy RTE radio programme and performed a stripped-back rendition of his timeless classic, which tells of the importance of sticking together and supporting each other in troubled times. This was quite a timely and apt song for our troubled times and our award winning Director Jess Patterson reimagined the song as a stunning short piece about a girl and her grandfather who are separated due to the pandemic. The short has received an amazing response from the public and media to date and helped contribute to a number of funds benefiting Covid 19 relief.
