Founded in 2011 by brother and sister duo Carla and Delwyn Mooney focusing on live action and non fiction. Cardel opened an animation arm in 2017.

Cardel creates, develops and produces diverse animated content in 2D, 3D, Traditional and Stop Motion including Model and Cut-Out animation as well as Live Action ranging from Commercials, Music Videos, Documentaries, Shorts, TV Series and Features. Creating compelling original narratives from concept through to design, scriptwriting, storyboarding, production right through to post production handling funding & financing of projects.

Cardel’s goal is to develop and deliver original stories and IPs focusing on animation for pre-schoolers, kids and adults that have strong creative and commercial viability appealing to a global audience, thus enabling the growth of the company and partners. 

Cardel is actively developing original content including animated & live action feature films, episodic series. Cardel is  building intellectual property and developing creatively ambitious projects for Irish audiences and the international marketplace.

Recent animation production news:

Cardel produced animation sequences on the feature documentary The Sparks Brothers, animated, designed and photographed by Joseph Wallace, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver). Wrights’ first feature documentary premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2021, produced with Media Rights Capital, the creators of (House of Cards, Ozark) and Edgar Wright’s company Complete Fiction. Voices for the animation sequences included Simon Pegg as John Lennon and Nick Frost as Ringo Starr.

Cardel produced stop motion Christmas Short Gunter Falls In Love directed by Josephine Lohoar Self and 3D animation commercial for Dogs Trust Ireland & UK directed by Katarina Lundquist which aired on RTE, Sky Ireland, Virgin Media and online.

Whilst Cardel endeavours to bring the best crew on board all productions we are very supportive of internships and opening the doors to new-comers to come work with Cardel and the team.
