The deal includes the shows first America sale with US Pay TV service, Condista, acquiring the first 3 seasons of the hit preschool animation series for its Spanish and English language service, Kids Central. The deal will see the series get its US TV premiere in early 2019, while TVO has just acquired Canadian broadcast rights for Season 3.
TV3 Catalunya has bought all 4 seasons of ‘The Day Henry Met…?’, and will give the series its premiere on Free TV in Spain in 2019. The series recently had its UK Free TV premiere on Milkshake! on 3rd December 2018.
In France, OCS and TF1 have just picked up VOD rights for their digital services.
Egmont Polska has recently picked up publishing rights for ‘The Day Henry Met…?’ in Poland from Monster Entertainment. They will be releasing a series of books including: Picture Books, Picture Books bind ups, Board Books, Activity Books, Colouring Books, Sticker Books, Puzzle Books, Reference Books and Novelty Books. The books are set to be released in spring 2019. Egmont Polska is part of a growing publishing programme at Monster Entertainment with New Frontier Publishing in Australia and New Zealand, The O’Brien Press in Ireland and the UK, and nCircle in the US and Canada.
Internationally, the series airs on Pay TV on Nickelodeon in 178 countries and on Free TV broadcasters such as ABC Australia, TV3 Catalunya Spain, RAI Italy, Canal Plus in French-speaking Europe and Milkshake! in the UK, and on SVOD platforms including BT and Azoomee in the UK, Urania in Czech Republic, Telefonica in Spain, with 5 SVOD platforms in China including, Youku and IQIYI.
The series, which now runs to 4 seasons, each of 26 x 5’ premiered on RTE in Ireland and then on Nick Jr. in 178 countries prior to moving to Free TV and SVOD.
‘The Day Henry Met…?’ won the Pulcinella Award for Best European Work at Cartoons on the Bay in 2015. In March 2017, the series also won Best Animation at the Irish Film and Television Awards.
The series continues to enjoy terrific ratings. On ABC Australia, ‘The Day Henry Met…?’ reaches 203K viewers with 53% of viewers ages 0-4. In Italy, ‘The Day Henry Met…?’ is ranked 5th among the most viewed programmes on free children’s channels in the 13:00-18:00 time slot, with a 13.32% share of viewers aged 4-7. It is the no.1 preschool series in Australia and, following the launch of its third season on Nick Jr Too in the UK, the series has topped the ratings there as well.
Season 4 has recently gone into production and will be completed in the summer of 2019.
