Lighthouse Studios hiring Layout Supervisor for Rick and Morty + Top Secret Series

Lighthouse Studios are on the hunt for experienced Layout Supervisors to work on exciting new shows happening: Rick and Morty + a Top Secret Series (also 16+). We are looking for people who will join us in our quest to create the best possible animated content for our partners. The supervisors will be required from Mid-late April 2025 until Mid-September / October 2025.

The roles relate to shows that have been classified 16+ and while the subject matter of the shows are presented in a fantasy or comic context, the production may contain contextually justified strong language, references to sex, drugs, horror, threat, and/or violence of a non-gratuitous nature, which some applicants may find objectionable.  Lighthouse will always seek to reasonably accommodate those applicants with conscientious or other objections, however given the nature of both the role and subject matter, this may not always be possible. Applicant discretion is therefore advised. 

PLEASE NOTE: This role is based in our studio in Kilkenny, Ireland, and there is no option to work freelance.

About the role

The Layout Supervisor will lead a team of Layout artist to deliver layout to the background department

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for location design, development, and delivery of layouts for the entire background team
• Communicate clearly the Director’s vision to the Layout team. This includes communicating the necessary retakes
• Supervise the team to ensure the project delivers on the creative objective
• Suggest and implement solutions to the team to assist them with their quota
• Work closely with the Line Producer, Director, and Production Manager to ensure the project is delivered on time
• Deliver technically clearly named and well layered files to the scene prep and background departments following established protocols
• Attend departmental kick-off meetings, reviews and director approvals as needed

The above is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other tasks.

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of industry experience as a lead supervisor
• Experience with Adobe photoshop and Shotgrid
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
• Attention to detail and ability to find solutions.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and take direction well
• Effective problem solving skills, solution oriented
•  Ability to work in a collaborative environment and take direction
• Must be a team player.
• Must know how to lead a team and maintain the team morale
