Role: QC Operator
Reporting to: Technical Manager Post Production

About the role:

Our next QC Operator will provide quality control on content created at BBF/9Story and finalise master files for broadcast delivery.

Delivery: What you produce

• Timely QC review of files created at milestones in the BBF Post workflow
• Clear and concise QC notes and reports
• Video/audio media file formats
• Supporting master file paperwork for broadcast deliveries.

Measurements: How we measure it
• Completion of tasks within an agreed schedule
• Team acceptance of QC notes and reports
• Feedback from Post team
• Up to date project trackers

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking content QC and creating reports to enable review and progression to the next stage.
• Encoding media files and checking them to ensure the encodes are error free.
• Creating master files for broadcasters including multi-track laybacks.
• Delivering master files and associated paperwork to broadcasters.
• Running media file transfers.
• Maintaining storage libraries and keeping track of data files and folder structures, ensuring BBF content housekeeping is accurate and up to date.
• Proactively resolving quality issues and problems.
• Logging time into project time logging software daily.
• Working with the Technology team in implementing new QC related technologies.
• Implementing QC process and workflows both technical and administrative.

Key Requirements

• Knowledge of video formats, frame-rates, audio channels, and file transcoding
• Familiar with edit platforms and edit timelines, and knowledge of picture and audio QC for TV
• General TV video & audio training and hands-on practical experience in a Post Production/TV facility
• Practical use of an editing platform and transcoding applications
