About the role
The Rigging Artist is responsible for ensuring that the art style, Rigging Team Lead and Animation Directors’ expectations are being met. By taking the original prop/character designs and building a functional rig for animation. While hitting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow the brief provided by the Production team and/or Rigging Team Lead;
- Ensure assignments are completed on time and/or flag any issues you foresee that will result in a missed deadline;
- Follow the list of assets and references necessary to create the required rigs and deadlines provided by the Production team and/or the Rigging Team Lead;
- Read all notes thoroughly and flag anything you do not understand with your Rigging Team Lead;
- Submit rigs to your Rigging Team Lead approval throughout the various stages of production;
- Review all materials that have been provided as reference, such as model sheets, video libraries, etc., to ensure you have a clear understanding of the production;
- Follow the artistic instructions provided by the Art Directors;
- Follow the reference images provided via the brief by the Rigging Team Leads to recreate assets in proportion and on model in Toon Boom Harmony;
- Ensure that the rigs are built to meet the needs of the Animation and Compositing teams;
- Follow all naming conventions and ensure all files are set up correctly and in line with the established production system and requirements of Toon Boom Harmony;
- Organise your workflow to enable you to meet quotas and deadlines;
- As part of your continuous development, you are expected to keep up to date with the latest initiatives and developments in your area of expertise/role through fora such as (but not limited to), training, learning and development initiatives and mentoring;
- Any other duties company management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.
What would Boulder look for?
- A strong understanding of the Toon Boom Harmony, preferably on a long form animation series;
- A full command of the rigging principles;
- Familiarity with the quality of animation, innovations and processes of current broadcasted TV shows and be able to understand and execute similar techniques and processes well;
- Able to work to a weekly quota/deadlines and production schedules;
- Good observation skills;
- Ability to translate original artwork to the rig exactly;
- Good creative vision;
- Detail orientated;
- Flexible approach to work;
- Willingness to learn;
- Self-motivated;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
