About the role
The Line Producer oversees the management of the show through all phases of production, including receipt of content brief, initial budgeting, planning, appointment of crew resources and scheduling, management through greenlight, application for S481 tax incentives, development, voice, pre-production, through core production, through postproduction and show delivery and S481 compliance. The Line producer supports Head of Studio (Production) in production planning and working on new project bids. The Line Producer is someone who thrives on being the middle of it all and leading a team through a project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling and Budgeting:
- Attend initial client meeting to discuss show scope and ambition.
- Analyse with clients to refine the project assumptions and any special project needs.
- Together with the key creative leads, draft anticipated outputs based on the assumptions for each department of production.
- Work with the Head of Studio (Production) to prepare a schedule and budget for the production, ensuring that the creative scope and ambition work with budget and resource parameters.
- Production:
- Oversight of all production functions delegated to the Production Manager, managers, and leads within the production pipeline.
- Drive outcomes to ensure quality standards, deadlines, and budget targets are met, and implement remedial action to rectify if this is at risk.
- Be the point person for the client, ensure their needs are being met (this may mean some work outside standard hours, depending on client location).
- Where applicable, ensure on-schedule production delivery via other facilities globally (3rd party studios) and, if needed, across multiple projects.
- Ensure management and circulation of accurate production reporting.
- Escalation of any potential risks to delivery, cost, or quality immediately to Head of Studio (Production).
- Crew Hiring:
- Direct responsibility for approving crew hires to the allocated show.
- Ensure their timely recruitment within terms that meet budget requirements.
- Work with HR to set contractual terms for crew.
- Production Cost Management & Cost Reporting:
- Keep project on budget.
- Present any potential over-budget spend to Head of Studio (Production) for approval ahead of client approval (if applicable).
- Approve invoices on your project in a timely manner.
- Work with the production finance team to review monthly cash flow.
- Together with HOS (P), sign off on monthly actual spend.
- Complete ETCs (Estimate to Complete).
- Complete and publish to clients accurate, checked, and up-to-date Cost Report alongside a monthly variance report if required.
- Handle any client communication on your project’s cost reports.
- Project Work & Development:
- Work on upcoming shows in the early stages of development with the creative and producer teams.
- Section 481:
- Keep up to date with current S481 legislation.
- Work closely with the Head of Studio (Production), Learning & Development Manager, and Production Accountant to prepare complete Section 481 Applications.
- Work similarly to ensure up-to-date records are kept for drawdown of the funds.
- Ensure we maximize S481 benefit with local hires and funding configuration wherever possible.
- At the end of production, work with the Production Accountant to ensure all documentation is updated for compliance audits and successful drawdown of S481 funding
- Crew Management and Training:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to foster a collaborative culture within your team.
- Regularly monitor your team’s performance.
- Ensure your team documents performance clearly and provides accurate feedback for their reports.
- Working with the HR Team, assist with crew development.
Any other duties company management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.
What would we look for?
- 5 years’ experience in Animation Production Management is essential.
- Previous experience in the preparation and management of production budgets.
- Knowledge of Movie Magic and Excel.
- Excellent, proven people management experience.
- Client-focused, ability to see from customer’s perspective.
- Ability to present very well to clients.
- Be self-motivated, able to work effectively in demanding circumstances.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
