Elk Studio’s have just wrapped up their first Frameworks short film which had it’s World Premiere at the 35th Galway Film Fleadh this month.
The Last Set tells the story of a man who finds healing and redemption through music and dance. Inspired by pagan traditions and liminal spaces, The Last Set examines the relationship between ritual, tradition and isolation. Music, dance and costume permeate a story about confronting fear and celebrating life, even in our final moments.
Written by John Mackey, directed by Aisling Conroy and produced by Sarah O’Carroll, The Last Set was funded by Screen Ireland and RTÉ under the Frameworks initiative. The Premiere will take place at the infamous Town Hall Theatre at the Galway Film Fleadh on Saturday 15th July at 12 noon where Screen Ireland will present the World Premiere of an exciting and robust selection of new Irish short films funded under the agency’s Focus Shorts and Frameworks short film schemes.
