The document offers five recommendations to sustain and further develop the animation industry in Ireland, which touch on the topics of increased support in the sector and a lack of information on the current economic state of the animation sector in Ireland.
- Increased supports for and from stakeholders–RTÉ, Irish Film Board, Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland
- Complete economic analysis of the audio visual industry in Ireland to be commissioned
- Increased support for the animation education sector and continued support for Animation Skillnet
- Support for hiring of international staff
- Increased resources to help deal with complex Section 481 applications

“The Animation sector in Ireland is recognised internationally for its creativity, quality and commercial potential. The board of Animation Ireland recommends that the animation sector in Ireland is recognised for the value it brings to the economy of the country, by employing over 1,000 people and up to €100m expenditure each year. In order to grow a sustainable world recognised industry, this sector needs additional support from the Department of Finance.
